Foundations of Mathematics: The New Beginning

The Greatest thing that happened in Mathematics was the development of Mathematical Logic and Set Theory by Logicians such as Cantor, Frege, Peano, Godel and many many more of them; it would be more intreresting to know about the "Development of Set Theory". But there are many series of events that accentuated the development of the Foundations of Mathematics.

All began in in the 1900 Mathematicians Conference at Paris and the 23 problems that were proposed by David Hilbert. The Discussion of the problems are far beyond the scope of this article, but are pleasent to read (This means, i dont know all its details but enjoyed reading it). The best of all about these problems was that each branched out into seperate fields in Mathematics.

SO MUCH FOR THE INTRODUCTION, but the greatest pleasure is arrived only reading the concepts. Many dont see the aesthetic quality of work put into work so as to formalise mathematics. The whole idea was to develop a axiomatic system and put it to work so that any thing in mathematics can be proved based on those. Most succesful axioms are ..... (to be continued)
